BOD Group

Baltic Disc AS belongs to BOD Group. BOD is short for Baltic Optical Disc.

BOD Group is the largest manufacturer of CD/DVD and Blu-ray discs of the Baltic States.

Today, the Group’s part dealing with compact disc production consists of the CD/DVD and Blu-ray industrial replication factory UAB BRD in Vilnius, Baltic Disc AS factory in Estonia and sales representation in Riga. BOD Group’s market share in the Baltics is about 90% of discs and cassettes manufactured here.

Today we export approximately 80% of our production. The main export countries are Baltic States, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Great Britain and France.

Reliability in copyright protection has been guaranteed by both factories entering a Manufacturing Contract with Nordisk Copyright Bureau.

Both production units have entered a Licence Contracts with Philips and Toshiba for using DVD technology enabling the BOD Group factories to sell their production all over Europe. Factories without such contract cannot sell their products even in, for instance, the Nordic Countries.

In 2005, the integrated Quality and Environment Management System of the Baltic Optical Disc (today UAB BRD) Lithuanian factory was certified according to ISO 9001:2001 and ISO 14001:2004. Certification was successfully carried out in the Baltic Disc Estonian factory in 2007.
